I greatly appreciate and respect your tact and comosexuality.arefulness in the wording of your questions to me. Let me attempt to answer them as concisely as I can. Your first question “Have you ever had to make that “choice” not to be gay? By this, I mean have you ever been confronted with homosexual urges and had suppressed them?” takes into account many issues that brings one to that place. for example, some factors might be the environment of upbringing, or, parental influence or lack thereof, or some damaging form of mental and / or physical abuse. Even drug addiction or various other forms of ungodly moral structure are legitimate roots of homosexuality. We must never forget the universal principle taught to Adam in the Garden of Eden. God told Adam to maintain the tree of good and evil but NOT to eat of its fruit. So it is God’s intention that man be exposed to evil but NOT experience it! It is my experience that in American society, at fast pace, we are embracing, craving and reproducing the nector of that forbidden fruit, “the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life” as stated in 1 John 2:16. Not many have “maliciously chosen” to be homosexual. But it is that “process of the mental gateway” that must be understood. Jesus speaks of this process in Matthew 5:27-29.
I “see no biological or genetic connection” to homosexuality because boys were born boys, and girls were born girls. Even in cases were a human was born with male and female genitailia, one gender set is more dominant and fully functional! To believe that a woman can be born in a man’s body or vice versa, is to imply that God has made a mistake! Job tried to go there remember? It didn’t work! Being a father of nine, I made it a point to make sure that none of my four boys ( who mare all adults now) be allowed to act out effeminate ways. The same is true for my five girls who are also adults now, masculinity was forbidden. There are very specific deep and profound spiritual reasons for men, who are made after the image of God, and women who are a type and figure of His church, to act as God delineates the moral compass to be.

It is clear that you think that homosexuality is a choice, one with no biological or genetic components. Given that standpoint:

Have you ever had to make that “choice” not to be gay? By this, I mean have you ever been confronted with homosexual urges and had suppressed them. I ask this respectfully, and without humor.

I am a straight man. I have never honestly been attracted in a sexual way towards another man. I can also assure you that this is not due to some sort of piety on my part, or a lack of a sexual appetite.

It seems to me that if it is not something that me, (and I presume you) have to “choose” NOT to do, then it would be naive to suggest that other’s are consciously and maliciously choosing TO do it.

I get the urge to be violent towards those I hate. I get the urge to steal, cheat, and lie. I also get the urge to skip church on Sunday, work on the Sabbath, and have sex with females that I am not married to.

But I NEVER get the urge to be a homosexual.

Could you explain why you see no biological or genetic connection, when the “choice” argument is obviously shallow.
