Isn’t ti funny, even at times amazing how that one little thing, those certain words, that smell, just seeing it! Or even thinking that it might be… you finish that one! Can make you be so tempted to…. you finish that one too! What is it with temptation that causes us to go, do act, say and partake of things we know that God doesn’t really want us to be found in? Well, for starters, I guess I should state the three kinds of sin that is in the world! The lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life, John 2:16 says. God says we can’t say that HE tempted us! This is plainly stated in James 1:12-16. Plainly put, there are some things in our life that are out of balance!
The Lord knows this and lets us know that it has been this way for a minute! Just consider how common the problem really is in 1 Corinthians 10:13! WOW! King Solomon’s phrase he uttered in Ecclesiastes 1:8-10 echos in my mind! There is indeed nothing new under the sun! So then, we must learn how to deal with this “pre-wired fault” we have inside of us! The questions are obvious in 1 Corinthians 10:13. How do we escape this problem of continual temptation? And how do we recognize the way to escape temtation? When you understand what temptation is all about, you CAN really do something about it!
Ah yes! The way to escape temptation! I love how the word of God is so lethal against Satan when it is rightly divided! Temptation for example. Its roots lie in three areas of the flesh, lusts- James 1:12-16, ignorance- 1 Corinthians 10:13 & Matthew 26:41 and resisting the truth and God in one’s knowledge – Romans 1:20; Titus 1:16 & 2 Timothy 3:8. Gather up the wisdom found here! The lust we harbor that are against the Spirit make us prone to temptation. We are drawn away from God’s knowledge when we ignore his truth and are disobedient in thought, word or deed. When we fail to look out and pray for God’s perspective, knowledge and leading we will “enter into” temptation. We then must become proactive in the weeding out of the roots of temptation in our flesh through the self discipline of godliness and contentment as spoken of in 1 Timothy 6:6-8!
Can you see where temtation hides by discerning 1 Timothy 6:9 and Matthew 6:19-23? Temptation is hidden in what we deem of great value in this earth! Remember, lusts are the desire for that which is valued gone wild! Temptations are “taken”, that is to say that we choose to have them, or not! When we succomb to temptation, we forfeit the spiritual blessings of power, soundness of mind, divine protection and a conscience void of offence towards God. So if we want to STOP falling into temptation, There must be some changing, rearranging and newness of mind through the direction of God’s word!! Carefully consider the scripture given here and see if you come to the same conclusion!

Shout out to… Those who know that God knows!
Lately I’m thinking… Have you “renounced the hidden things of dishonesty”?
Currently reading… 2 Corinthians 4:2
This is really interesting… God wants us to bare truth in such a manner as to cause other men’s conscience to acknowledge this virtue!
Are you really aware of the power we have in paying attention to the “hidden things of dishonesty”? It is imperative that we be sure that our thought processes, spoken intentions and course of action NEVER casts us in the light of “walking in craftiness” or “handling the word of God deceitfully”! Those who cannot be perceived as being truthful and having integrity are not trusted in this world! How much more shameful is it for the people of God to live that way?! Remember, what you do in thought, word and deed (thats the definition of communication!) affects other men’s conscience in the sight of God! They know whether you are against or complicit in the HIDDEN things of dsihonesty! Know and accept or change where you stand in this matter! Pastor Greg
