Are YOU sure? for reals, are you SURE!?
Shout out to… Those who NEED MORE confidence in GOD!
Lately I’m thinking… Confidence in God increases when your faith has the hinderances removed!
Currently reading… Hebrews Chapter 10
This is really interesting… Who are the just? Are you confident that you live among them?
The soapbox: Lets look at Hebrews chapter 10 for a minute! Lets start our focus around verses 35 & 36 shall we? YOUR confidence, where is it? Carnally based solely on that which YOU can touch, taste, see, hear and smell? Or spiritually based on that which God himself has promised but you have yet to see or receive? If it is spiritually based, than what portion of HIS will have you proven to stand firm in your confidence of God fulfilling his promises in your life? More specifically, what then is the promise of God in the exact situation you must have confidence in him with? Godly patience can only manifest AFTER the will of God is prominant in your scenario! So remember the reward and keep your confidence in God, don’t throw it away!
“David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.” 1 Samuel 30:6
Shout out to… All those who are in the struggle!
Lately I’m thinking… What do you do in those moments when there is no preaching or Preacher or joy of the Lord?
Currently reading… 1 Samuel 30:6
This is really interesting… Beloved encourage yourself in the LORD your God!
The soapbox: David knew the pain of great loss and to have others suffer with him! Here in this passage we see David’s inner strength His relationship with God gave him knowledge of what to do when circumstances become uncontrollable and stress ridden! He understood that prayer is a two way communication thing. Remember the five steps of approaching God the Lord Jesus Christ spoke of in the Lord’s prayer found in Matthew 6:7-15? Praise and worship, requests, confession, intercession ending with praise and worship. David knew that his part in encouragement from God was to meditate on God’s word and His promises following his prayer to completely “hear” from God. He applied Romans 10:17. He knew how to use the word of God to encourage himself in the Lord! He understood that the promises of God were greater than his present situation, and that God would work out that which needed to be resolved for his honor and glory, and that he mustn’t let the circumstances change him for the worst, but change his perception of the circumstances for the better, as is spoken of in Romans 8:28-39! He trusted in God!! When the hot waters of life fill our cup, lets make the tea of encouragement for others to drink! Pastor Greg
