Have you ever felt like your “want-to-er” needs a little adjusting? You know, when you are always wanting something. almost to the point of obsessing over it! I mean, you find yourself having to get over that frustration of always wanting something but never being able to have it when you want, the way you like it or have it go your way. Or maybe you are just “strong willed”, and you know what kind of trouble that has caused you! Especially in your relationship with God! I know you know the verse, “not my will, but thine be done.” (Luke 22:42. But are you really being careful in knowing the will of God!? The quickest, surest off the cuff way to tell is by considering just how much you involve God in your daily decisions. There is indeed a scriptural mind set and remedy for accomplishing this. Lets examine a little piece of it found in Romans 12:1 & 2. Here we find one of those passages that say so much in such few words! Yep! Anything less than a body that is presented to him as a living sacrifice is just not acceptable to God! Oh! And he wants that body holy, which he considers our reasonable service to him! What is the proper way to accomplish this transformation? By renewing our minds so that he might give you the ability to prove that good, acceptable and perfect will of God!
The order is; presenting ourselves as a living sacrifice, renewing our minds, then, proving what the will of God is, so that you can have a deep meaningful relationship with God! You must renew your mind to the point of placing YOUR will in subjection to God’s will in your daily decisions. When making a daily decision, consider the frame of mind of our Lord Jesus. According to Luke 22:42, even unto death Jesus was willing to allow God’s will over His own. Jesus gave us the example in the scriptures. In the kingdom of God, it’s not what you know, it’s whose will you are in subjection to! Because Christ was our example, we too then must desire to know God’s will for our own daily decisions! Choosing to do God’s will is something that we must do on a daily basis. EVERYDAY. So then, if we don’t allow God’s will to come to pass in our lives, we are disobeying him. Unwillingness to do God’s will is the same as disobedience to His word, as that’s where we find his will. I Timothy 1:8-10 tells us how God views those who disobey His word. The greater purpose of God’s will accomplished in our lives is for his honor and glory as well as our benefit. If it were left up to us to do our own thing there would be a lot of sadness and suffering because man’s heart is corrupt Genesis 6:5-7.
Yes, I am hinting at the fact that God requires a complete mind change in the way we make decisions and live our lives for Him. After all the word of God says that :”ye are bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” in 1 Corinthians 6:20. So we must become sensitive and make his will a priority in our lives! These 7 areas of consideration should direct you in the right path. 1) What is God’s design for it? Why did he create it? What is his purpose for it? 2) What is your responsibility? What are your true motives? What does your conscience tell you? How will others be affected? Do you have all of the facts? 3) Whose authority are you under? Does scripture directly forbid it? Does God give testimony against it? What do my parents say? Does it violate the law? Does it violate church teaching? Is my employer against it? 4) What suffering will be involved? What are God’s limitations? How will Satan oppose this? Am you prepared to stand alone? 5) Whose ownership is at stake? Have you yielded your rights? Am I being a good steward? 6) will moral freedom result? Will it defraud? Does it avoid an appearance of evil? Does it edify? 7) Will it bring honor and glory to God? Will it bring true success? How will it advance the kingdom of God? Will it build maturity? By coming up with a scriptural answer to all of the questions that apply to your decision, you will properly discern the will of God! The ultimate question is Will you now!? Maybe you won’t! Where is your head at in this? leave me a comment!

Ever wonder how people of God can know all kinds of bits and pieces of the truths of God and yet live as though they just don’t have it together? Or even more perplexing, do you know folks who can talk very intelligently about God, but their decisions and actions in their lives do not reflect the intelligence they possess? You know what I mean? Someone does something or reacts in a certain way and you can’t help but wonder why they did that because you know that they know better? Even worse yet, they do what they speak against! The Apostle Paul accurately describes this dilemma in Romans 7:7-25. I want you to know that I am intentionally avoiding the use of the word “hypocrit”! Thats because I’m not referring to those who act this way with intentions directly against God! I’m referring to those who are disconnected from the virtue that lies in their subconcious not realizing the inner battle ground they must conquer in God’s sight. I’m referring to those who were raised in church, those who put forth the effort to get the Word of God off of the page and into their hearts! These are they that are accountable for what they know! Make no mistake! There are many of us out there! We know what we know and know that God knows what we know! We are the ones that must let St. Luke 12:48 be the premise, influence and alter our every thought, word and deed!
Listening to my buckler, my fortress, My deliverer, the LORD my Rock with two ears, two eyes, and all of my other senses in my “heart of flesh” (Ezekiel 11:17-20) enables me to continually be “a vessel meet for the master’s use” as is spoken of in 2 Timothy 2:19-21! Carefully consider verse 20, and know that God knows what you know! He knows what manner of vessel you truly are by virtue of Romans 9:21! We MUST obey the spiritual rule of 1 Corinthians 11:28 and know that God knows who you really are and expects you to act like it! NOT as the devil condemns and badgers us to be, harmless and of none effect towards his kingdom, but as He called us to be, “more than conquerors” Romans 8:37 says! Exercise your mind to operate in the comprehension of 2 Corinthians 10:3-6! The plain truth of Luke 12:48 is this: when God gives you wisdom and knowledge, He expects you to live it!
The Lord “winked” “at the time of this ignorance” according to Acts 17:30, but when you KNOW how to do good, When you KNOW the plain truth of a matter, when you KNOW the mind of God in that very uncomfortable scenario and refuse to obey the truth, the good and the mind of God in what YOU KNOW, you fulfill James 4:17. Its THAT sin that brings on the stripes, the chastening, the rod of correction from God into your life so that you might avoid; you know, have “tokens” for what you truly deserve from God, according to 2 Thessalonians 1:4 & 5! When God lets you know something about something, you are well advised to act the way HE expects you to in that knowledge! Know how to “prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God” Romans 12:2! Let the transformation of your mind be complete.
